50 Years of Excellence in Mark Masonry
Mount Mark Lodge No. 50:
A Legacy Built on Brotherhood Since 1974
OUR LEGACY
In 1974, twenty devoted Mark Master Masons came together with courage and conviction to found Mount Mark Lodge No. 50. Led by Founder Master Krishnamachari Venkata Raghavan from Mark Lodge Kudal, these pioneers laid the foundation with vision and care, knowing that the strength of the whole would depend upon the quality of each individual contribution.
The Foundation: Of the twenty founders, twelve came from St. Marks in the East, six from the English Constitution, and two from Lodge Justitia. These brethren laid the first stones with dedication, and from those twenty founders, nearly two hundred Mark Master Masons have since entered this Lodge, each placing their own stone and leaving their distinctive mark.
Growth & Recognition: Today, sixty Mark Master Masons remain active, carrying forward what has become an enduring institution sustained by brotherhood, integrity, and service. Almost all Past Masters have been honored with Past Ranks from both the Regional Grand Mark Lodge of Southern India and the Grand Mark Lodge of India, recognizing their continued service to Mark Masonry.
Our Membership: Our members come from distinguished lodges across Chennai: The Mount Lodge No. 14, The Carnatic Lodge No. 39, Lodge Justitia No. 82, Lodge Asoka No. 93, and others, creating a rich tapestry of Masonic brotherhood.

Generational Legacy: A particularly heartwarming aspect of our Lodge is the presence of multiple generations and siblings within the same family. We proudly remember our Founder Member, Late Brother Maddur Prabhat Kumar, whose legacy continues through his family members—Brothers Maddur Pratap Kumar, Maddur Praveen Kumar, and Maddur Ajoy Kumar, two of whom are recipients of the 25 Years Long Term Service Jewel.
Excellence in Ritual: Mount Mark Lodge has consistently participated in Ritual Working Competitions, with many brethren receiving Exemplary Merit Certificates. Notably, our young Past Master W Bro Arvind Shiva Mahadevan won the coveted Award of Best Mark Master in the Southern Region.
